Resources for Sustainable Building
What Are Green Homes?
Green homes are designed and constructed to use fewer materials, save energy, conserve water, use sustainable materials, use renewable energy sources, preserve the site’s natural processes, and to create a healthier indoor environment. Often, these homes will help the homeowner save on utility bills, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and achieve better indoor air quality. Some green homes may do this more than others, though, as no two are exactly alike.
